The Starlight Trust is an animal welfare and rescue organisation based in Surrey

I need to rehome/want to adopt a cat/dog/rabbit/reptile. Can you help?

No, I’m afraid not. We are currently only able to help with small caged pets and occassional wildlife casualties where no-one else will help. For any other animal please have a look at the links page for ideas of other rescues who might be able to help.

I need to rehome my small rodent. Can you please help?

We will try wherever possible. Please see our rehoming page for more info.

I want to adopt an animal. Is *insert animal name* still available/do you have any *animal type*?

You can see details of the animals currently in our care here and this list is regularly updated. If we don’t have what you’re looking for please have a look on the links page for details of another rescue who might be able to help.

I need advice about caring for my small pet

We would be very happy to advise. Please send us an email.

Do you have any jobs/volunteer opportunities/work experience placements?

The Starlight Trust operates a small home run rescue which means we have no funds to pay staff and we’re unable to accept any offers of help with the animals here or accommodate work experience placements currently. There are other ways you can get involved which you can see here.

Where are you based?

We are located in Wallington, Surrey, SM6. This is between Sutton and Croydon on the South London/Surrey border.

Are you open to the public? Can we come and see the animals?

Unfortunately we are not able to accept visitors. As well as the small pets we also have nervous dogs and the occasional wildlife casualty here so we need to minimise visitors for their sake. Having visitors would also mean we would have to pay for licenses and insurance and we prefer to spend our limited funds directly on the animals. One day perhaps we’ll have a big purpose built centre but, for now, we must work around the restrictions of operating from our little house 😉 We appreciate you may wish to “check us out” before adopting from or surrendering to us and we welcome as many questions as you would like to ask. We can also provide references from other rescues and adopters on request.

I have found an injured wild bird or animal or have a problem with pest wildlife. Can you help?

You can find a list of wildlife rescues throughout the UK and advice on sick, injured or problem wildlife on our wildlife site HelpWildlife.co.uk. If you have a wildlife casualty that others have refused to help with because of the nature of its illness or injury or because it is a pest species, please call us on 0844 5868 634 and leave a message.
