The Starlight Trust is an animal welfare and rescue organisation based in Surrey

Name/s: Hooley
Species: Feral Pigeon
Gender: Unknown
Date of Birth: May 2015
History Hooley fell from his nest under a bridge and broke his leg.
Hooley’s leg fracture was too high up to splint so we initially tried suspending him in a special harness to take the weight off his leg. He escaped it within seconds. So then we tried strapping his leg to his body to immobilise it. He repeatedly pulled of his bandages! Thankfully as he was young and light, he was able to get around just holding the leg up himself and hopping and was much happier with this than with our interference.

OUTCOME: Hooley was passed to East Sussex WRAS for release.
